What does well mean?

I can not believe that I actually feel well.  Well not fatigued and tired, like pushing through water.
I have a few ideas that eating the right foods, etc but it feels weird.  I've been so sick that I don't know what well actually means.

Catch up time...

I have been so busy with other things and it looked like everything was going so well.

It all fell apart this year.  I noticed unlike others who lose weight, I actually put it all on and more when I eat the good things like salad veggies and summer fruit (mango and pawpaw oh nearly forgot passion fruit.)

I forgot to have a break between them and now I've been
a) having problems sleeping
b) dehydrated
c) Cranky
d) Stinging sensations and rashes on my arms
e) Swellings etc
f) Forgetting things
Oh I forgot the massive headaches and sore throat as well.
+ finally absolutely tired all the time.

Well after a couple days of rehydration and bi carb plus stopping to eat the wrong things I feel better.
Hungry but have what I would call energy wanting me to things.

I can't believe it.  I feel normal, I just love to eat veggies and fruit though.  I was until diagnosed a Vegetarian and miss the use of mushrooms and onion plus tomatoes.  How I wish I could eat all of them without any reactions.

It is now time for me to go back and relearn what to eat and do better and pay attention to what I do rather than just guess.  At least I didn't have to pay $200 to find this out.  My professor would not be happy in finding that I did this,  I just need to refocus and get back my life.

I have chucked out the half mango, last of the passion fruits and other veggies that I had in the fridge.  It is now nearly all failsafe and should be good for me to eat.  Had to buy a few other things and make sure that I had some other food to eat.

Let's see what happens now.  I may be a happier person and a healthy one at that.

A new taste in town

Sometimes it is really hard to find something that makes a person want to eat more than just nutrients on a plate.  Well that's how it feels.  However, last night I tried something different.

I used the following:ingredients and created something yummy-

Chicken breast
Pears in syrup
Peas
Leek
Garlic
The new ingredient was a golden delicious apple.

All shallowed fried, no oil just the chicken
Then added Citric Acid

I then heated up for 2 mins a packet of saffron rice that I can get and then put the mixture on of it.
Sprinkled with salt.

I saved some for lunch today and now I am looking forward to it.

A rotten horrible no good day or two

Why oh why do I do it to myself.  Getting better all the time and then take leap frog steps back.  I let someone else make lunch for me and I ate something I was allergic too then forgot my jacket when the wind is blowing a gale and it's freezing.

Plus then have pain racked nights from the physio work being done.  Any wonder I have taken leaps back to basics.  I'm so stuffed.  As you can see from this post it's not one of the best as I'm tired and not thinking very straight at all.

So why do I do it.  Because I want to experience life as others experience it, but every so often it all goes pear shaped.  Well maybe better next time.

Drink Up to Water

I found this short comment about using water.

The Sky doesn't rain down espresso to refresh the land.

No one takes a bath in Pepsi.

That's because the way to refesh, cleanse and invigorate is water.
Appromiately 75% of the earth and 60 % of your body is made up of water.
Every system in your body depends on it and it is essential for carrying out the life processes.

Replace your usual soda, coffee or sweet drink with a glass of water and
you'll soon come to appreciate the revitalizing, restorative beverage of nature.

Here's to water!!!

Food for Thought

I found this poem in the Australian Table Magazine from 1999 when I was helping my students  find some pictures and information for posters and I thought it would be nice to share it.  I shared it with them and they thought it was special and should be shared too.

Food for Thought

Do you have time to cook a meal?
Do you have time to supp?
Do you know how your children feel when dinnertimes is up?
Does your kitchen smell of chopped up fruit?
Of pies and mince and bread?
Is your table strewn with drink to suit?
Do the smells fill your head?

Fill your head with memories?
And the stuff to make some more.
Are meal times like a gentle breeze that can open doors?
Does eating give you nourishment
For your body and your soul?
Does your table do just what it’s meant or has it a greater role?

Is it a place of talk and jest?
Of philosophy and mirth?
Is it a place where you can rest and come back down to earth?
Is your palate served a King’s delight
Or are your meals but simple fare?
Are they fatty or labeled “light”? Or do you really care?

Do you cook your meals in the coals
(as would a drover or a camper)?
They catch from favourite fishing holes with billy tea and damper.
No matter where your supper’s laid, No matter with who you dine
No matter if it’s ready-made or a chef’s design
Here’s a little food for thought when next you carve the roast
Share the time as we ought with those that mean the most

Wow a lot better than before...

Wow I can't believe how far I've come since first diagnosed with these allergies.  Now that I look at it, it was a very long time and I keep learning how different things affect me every so often.  The body is so amazing and technical.

I wish I could say I'm a lot better I can only say that I'm trying this and that to see if it works and if I can actually eat it.  At least I no longer am stuck in bed and fatigue and aching limbs and headaches every day.  They come and go but a very few months between them now.  I know when to take me time.  I text anyone who would ring and let them know I'm not answering and to leave a message.  I just have to take it.
